The mission of the United Methodist Women is to be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
All women in the church are invited to participate.
United Methodist Women focuses on mission with emphasis on women, children and youth.
Our mission initiatives include:
Providing opportunities to grow spiritually, and providing transformative educational experiences through
reading books that increase our understanding of societal issues and may take us out of our comfort zones.
Working for justice through service and advocacy.
United Methodist Women's Group meets the second Monday every other month at 7PM.
Meetings may include a Guest speaker, Book discussions, program of prayer and self-denial.
Yearly activities include:
Organizing and participating in a Women's Sunday Service.
Attending the Genessee Valley District Communion Breakfast.
Garage Sale event in July. Proceeds from this go to Missions.
Ladies Picnic and Auction in August.
Christmas Pot-luck with a mission activity was held December 10th, 2018.
All ladies are welcome to join us.
We had a wonderful UMW Sunday on February 24, 2019.
Our Guest speaker was: Renada Bertram,
a young woman who spoke of her mission trip to India.
Renada spoke about the needs of women and children there with some issues they are facing.
They assisted with some medical and dental programs, and did a class on self-defense.
We had a very meaningful evening preparing dinner for the residents at the
Ronald McDonald House near Strong Hospital on May 22, 2019.
