Welcome to Worship - Sunday March 22nd, 2020
Opening Prayer: |
Steadfast Light unto our path, we gather in a new way today. We are together in more ways than we are apart. We are still your body; we are still your church. Your faithfulness gives us the confidence to trust in you. As we devote this very present moment to you, point us in the direction where our belief births sight...if only just the sight of the step we are taking with you. Amen.

Entrance Hymn:
|
I want to walk as a child of the light
I want to follow Jesus God sent the stars to give light to the world The star of my life is Jesus In Him there is no darkness at all The night and the day are both alike The Lamb is the light of the city of God Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus |
I want to see the brightness of God
I want to look at Jesus Clear sun of righteousness, shine on my path And show me the way to the Father In Him there is no darkness at all The night and the day are both alike The Lamb is the light of the city of God Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus Words & Music: Kathleen Thomerson © 1970, 1975 Celebration |

Prayer for Understanding |
There is no misunderstanding in you, O God, and that is why we place our trust in you. We do not understand many things; we wonder and marvel at your creation in one breath and we are stymied to sympathies with the next. As we enter into a time devoted to hearing the Word (your Son, Jesus Christ), may we witness in new ways how your steadfast love can lure us into your creative transformation. Permit us to hear hope and envision encouragement through the substantive energy of your Holy Spirit. Amen.

Prayers of the People: |
Please use the above form to submit your joys and/or requests for prayer. Your submission will be sent directly to Rev. Phil.
Slather us with your Siloam-sating slime, Savior of our souls, and make our spiritual sight a sign to our surrounding community. We have confidence in you; help our lack of confidence in you. It's true! The liminality of our Lenten lives this spin around the sun has us teetering on the balance beam of belief. One moment we are wiping away tears at the immensity of a new orientation of life wondering why? One moment we are squaring our shoulders at the profundity of the catastrophe professing faith! Gentle us, O Shepherd who leads beside still waters Ease us into a kindness of life; to breathe in the back-and-forth between trusting and doubting stumbling around with mud on our eyes as we make our way to the pool of healing we believe we see it may not all be clear just yet but we believe in you Amen. |
What are you thankful for? |
Each week we would like to celebrate with one another for that which we are thankful. Send your video to Rev. Phil and he will upload it to the site. Let's share with each other!
For instance, Sandra shares her message of thanks! |

Prayer of Dedication: |
Refreshing and rejuvenating Giver of all gifts, we offer back to you a token of our gratitude for the life of this community. May they be used to inspire hearts and awaken minds to your love. Amen.
